The role

We are looking for a Senior .NET Backend Developer to join our team here at Lessmore. You’ll build and operate the backends behind our games, which are played by well over 5 million daily active users.

You’ll own features from start to finish; from design through implementation, to production rollout. You will also help us keep our services reliable, optimize for performance and cloud costs as our games grow.

What you will do

• Build new backend features across our game portfolio and extend existing ones, including cloud saves, leaderboards, chat and more collaborative and competitive game features
• Own services in production, including deployments, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
• Optimize performance, scalability, and costs while keeping systems reliable
• Work closely with game developers on feature integration, jumping into Unity client code when needed
• Communicate decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and progress clearly, and follow through on the work you take on

 What you bring

• Professional experience building backends with C# and .NET
• Hands-on experience operating cloud applications at large scale, including investigating and resolving production issues
• A solid understanding of distributed, stateful systems
• High ownership: you’ll take initiative, drive features forward and improve our systems
• Willingness to work on the client side when a feature needs it, including in Unity
• Excellent written and spoken English

 Our stack

Our backends are built using C#/.NET and ASP.NET Core. Many features are built using Microsoft Orleans. The backends are running on top of GCP / GKE. PostgreSQL, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery are also part of the mix.

Overlap with our stack is of course a big plus
